VFW Post 2619 was founded on July 11th 1932 in caldwell, NJ. after ww2, another group of Roseland veterans formed vfw post 9782 on April 2nd 1948. on April 14th 1964 the two posts consolidated and formed Roseland/caldwell vfw post 2619. In December of 1973 ground breaking began at their new home at 52 Eisenhower pkwy, Roseland NJ. it was occupied approximately 1 year later in 1974. It was built by veterans of ww2, Korea and Vietnam. The men worked after hours from their jobs and on weekends. The Ladies auxiliary was on hand to make sure they were fed every-time. The post still stands proudly and operates at the same location today. In 2017, the post was able to obtain a historic ww2 155 mm Howitzer that landed during the normandy invasion. it was part of general George Patton’s 3rd army and was used in many major battles across Europe, including the battle of the bulge. it was in Germany at the wars end, before being returned to the us. It was dedicated to our member, Doug Denman, who was also part of the 3rd army and proudly sits in front of our post.
